Synamat was founded with the initial project, under ThermOptical Cooling LLC, of converting low-grade and low-value lignite coal and activated carbon into high-performance, high-value, battery-grade graphite for lithium-ion batteries for the City of Estevan, Canada; within the context of a fully commercial and industrial production service. Having established the Synamat project, we ensure economic development and job creation for communities in need.
With the resilience of global supply chains faltering, and the heavy reliance upon overseas supply of graphite for critical domestic infrastructure, Synamat’s mission is to shore up and firmly establish a domestic supply of graphite, and other advanced materials, in the USA and Canada.
